Long story short
Tax Time is a cloud-based accounting services firm headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina. We specialize in small and micro-sized businesses who want to focus their time on what they do best and leave the back office work to someone else. Our industries of particular expertise include law firms, real estate and other independent professional services organizations. We offer enterprise class services, including bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, forecasting and more. We also offer individual income tax return preparation services.
The firm was founded by James Doty, an accountant for more than twenty years, who began his career in the federal government with the U.S. Department of State. He ultimately settled in Charleston after living and working abroad in places such as Russia, Austria and Canada. He still gets the itch to travel from time-to-time, so the firm is designed to be virtual, meaning work can be done remotely from Europe as easily as it is done from home base in Charleston. This allows Tax Time to serve clients anywhere they might be. This is an exciting time to be in business with all the technology available to make our work more efficient.
James holds a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Tech and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. He is also a member of the National Society of Accountants. He serves or has served as a volunteer on various property association and nonprofit boards and was the South Carolina volunteer on the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.
